Canon for Summoner Goliath of the Grotto Goliath comes from a family who has owned a sapphire cave and mine for hundreds of years. These sapphires are rare and can increase the power of any magical spell. Goliath trades or sells these gems only to those he believes will do healing spells with them. His family used to have a castle called Crawford MacLean. The story is Lady Crawford married the Duke of the Grotto Lord MacLean. The lord loved her so much that he built Lady Crawford a castle that overlooked the sea because it reminded him of her beauty. They lived there happily for several years until she came down with an illness that no spell could fix. No amount of sapphires or ancient spells he got from Enchanter Daphne of the Forest #85 would work. When Lady Crawford died Goliath was so sad he left the castle and went to live outside of the cave and now spends his time mining sapphires. Goliath has a blue sapphire slime named Arwilla who nurtures and protects the sapphires from thieves and is his pet. Arwilla has a brother Torwilla who lives with Cosmic Mage Solomon of the Road #2942.
