Lance, Champion of the Sunrise

This Warrior was first noteworthy in the service of the Council of BlackSand. His impressively flawless physique, which he maintains through rigorous training at the break of each dawn, makes him an imposing bodyguard and protector of important interests to the City That Once Was.

Claiming to have been blessed under a morning sunbeam, Lance exhibits his tremendous strength in outdoor fighting venues, where any sparring partner can attest it is as though his vigor is replenished from simply basking in the light of day.

In combat, he dons the helm of a knight but wears little other armor - perhaps for the sake of not only mobility, but vanity. He favors pole weapons for their advantage in reach, and is capable of fending off multiple assailants at once with his sturdy spetum and cunning reflexes.

Lance is almost always accompanied by a harpy eagle in the sky called Otenko, whom he apparently considers to be the terrestrial manifestation of the sun's will. It seems there is some kind of supernatural bond between them, and Lance's situational awareness and battle tactics are greatly enhanced by the maneuvers of this avian ally.

The Warrior's most recent assignment from the Council of BlackSand was to escort a foreign visitor the City had invited to participate in the inaugural Runiverse Grand Tour. This competitor was a man by the name of Julian Tryhard, a self-professed interdimensional investigator with a specialty in collectible curiosities, relic recovery, and occult occurrences. After finishing the race in 12th place, Julian is granted leeway by the Council to continue exploring the Runiverse, under the diligent watch of Lance and Otenko.
