Trudy Eradicator of Thieves (#6369)

Owner: 0x2c93…020f

"A job is a job," she'd grumble, flexing her fingers around the hilt of her skull sword, "Don't get too caught up in the rest of it." Trudy was on high alert today as she survey the wharf.

On this particular day, a goblin captain by the name of Arkol sent word of his arrival. Arkol was not just any goblin; he was a behemoth of a goblin, towering over others of his kind and most humans. The ship was a small vessel with just Arkol, his first mate, the Battle Penguin chef & a couple deck hands. But today, it's cargo was immensely valuable.

Arkol had taken the Potion's Passage Canal to get further inland. Usually the stubborn Orc would risk the waters of the Brine to avoid paying those Red Wizard bastards their canal toles... but this trip, he bit the bullet. Even one as headstrong as Arkol knew better than to risk this load.

See, Arkol's cargo was highly valuable, and he wanted the deck cleared of potential thieves before his vessel docked. Having been hired in advance Trudy took the job more seriously than most. Scanning the crowd for unfamiliar faces and suspicious behavior as well as learning secrets from her guild spies, Trudy learned of a plot to heist the most valuable crate of goods, swapping it out for and empty crate as it were to be loaded. But with hundreds of people travelling in and out daily, any one of them could be plotting a heist. Word of an impending theft reached Trudy's ears. She didn't know who planned it, but she knew she had to stop it. With a few well-placed bribes and whispered threats, she discovered the unimaginable - it was Arkol's first mate orchestrating the theft.

When the time came, Trudy was ready. As the first mate and his cohorts made their move, Trudy stepped in, her skull sword gleaming menacingly under the harbor lights. "Looks like you're about to miss the boat," she quipped, launching herself into the fray.

The battle was swift and brutal, but Trudy emerged victorious, the thwarted thieves sprawled unconscious around her. The first mate was bound and presented to Arkol, who was speechless at the treachery of his trusted crew.

In gratitude, Arkol offered Trudy a permanent position on his ship. And with a nod, Trudy agreed, embarking on a new chapter of her life as a sailing merchant. As she strode up the ship's gangway, she turned back, looking out over Wizard's Warf one last time.

"Smooth sailing," she murmured, a fitting farewell to her previous life. And with a final wave, Trudy Eradicator of Thieves disappeared into her new life on the open sea.
