Taurus, a grizzled mercenary with a penchant for ale and poor decision-making, found himself in the heart of Goblin Town. The air was thick with the stench of cheap booze and the clamor of degenerates engaging in games of chance.

In a moment of drunken bravado, Taurus challenged a sad looking goblin with a lazy eye and a slight lisp to a game of Runes! The Trading Card Game™. The stakes were high, and the mercenary's confidence was even higher. A sure win was at hand. Alas, fate had other plans.

Unbeknownst to Taurus, the goblin had a few extra cards up his sleeve, quite literally. With a sly grin and sleight of hand, the goblin slipped a powerful set of Souls cards into play, sealing the smug soldier's fate.

With a triumphant scree, the goblin revealed his hand, leaving Taurus to face the consequences of his folly. As per the wager, the mercenary was now obligated to don a ridiculous hat for an entire year lest he face expulsion from the mercenaries guild and a dagger through the neck.

And so, Taurus set forth on his adventures, his once-fearsome visage now adorned with the proud plumage of a long-forgotten era. No legitimate fighting force will take him seriously, so humiliated soldier wanders the streets of Goblin Town clearing basements of rats and thumping schoolyard bullies in exchange for enough coin to face down the screeling in one more card game that he will surely win to earn back his honor.
