The silence of the forest is broken by a stranger. They think they are alone. In the dense flora above them sits a great horned owl. It hoots and flies over. The person quickly follows. Lily is leading them back to the Iota Path and not where they want to go. This owl is the guardian, the protector, the loyal companion of a wizard.

The cottage where Enchanter Daphne lives is on the east side of the Emerald Forest. Up under the roof edge of this home built into a hill is a hinged opening. Lily is free to fly away as she pleases.

It is not known how the two became to be together other than it happened when Daphne was a teenager decades ago. Another mystery is how old both of them are.

Daphne is a little bit eccentric or some call her crazy. She got this way after her husband Ian died and she performed an ancient spell out of the book of Emerald Forest magic. She wanted the spell to bring her husband back to life but she used the wrong ingredients and the spell affected her brain and emotions.

Since the accident Lily protects Daphne from visitors who want to learn about magical spells from this ancient book.

She is not afraid to attack or peek the eyes out of someone who doesn’t belong there. Daphne cannot be found without Lily’s approval. Many have tried to fool the owl into letting them visit but Lily leads them away. Only a chosen few have actually met Daphne.

Soul Shaded Spectre Lucinda sometimes stops by their cottage. Lily can’t do anything about whether she is allowed or not because no one can tell a soul what to do. Lucinda always brings her ghost bat with her named Rocky.

Rocky and Lily are best friends. They never argue and always have fun discussing life in the forest. Sometimes they fly like two fighter jets and see who is the fastest.

When soul Lucinda visits the two of them will sit for hours talking, singing, and dancing. There have been occasions where they get into loud arguments. Lucinda will leave for a few weeks but then comes back. They tell each other they are sorry and before you know it they both are singing and laughing again.
