1. The Birth of Pix

Spawned amidst thousands in the muck of Atlanta’s Pool, came the creature to be known as Pix; or Sorcerer Pix of the Riviera, if you’re feeling long-winded. The tadpole did not stay long with the kindred of his koopling race, for no sooner than he was born, did he become entrapped within a fisher’s net, and swept away to be the likely feed for some wretched animal. Alas, not even a fate so low as that, was considered worthy for our Pix. He escaped—probably by accident—just north, en route through the Yellow Wizard Haven; and he landed propitiously in the base of a water fountain in the town’s center. There he stayed, growing day by day, eating upon the generous layers of grime afforded by the Chronomancers’ manipulations—for who knew, really, how many countless decades this fountain had experienced, relative to the normal way of things.

Yes, there he stayed, until one day he was simply too big to live his quaint life unnoticed.
